During the fall of 2021, just a few days before Halloween I stepped into one of the oldest cemetaries in the United States. Filled with famout people of history, including many judges during the Salem witch trials. Tombstones all around, many with names withered off from the elements, it was only befitting to use a fun unusual film like lomochrome purple!
The area is huge, with tombstones and humongous trees scattered around. Most of the stones have been re etched by people of the past, so many have no name anymore. Long time since people knew who stood before these nameless tombs. I hadn't even been aware that the elements would take away the names of the past. Some of the famous names here include Jonathan Corwin and John Hawthorne, judges during the trials. Also Sauel Bradstreet, a governor of Massachusetts a long time ago.
Lomochrome purple was the go to for this place. The dramatic blues and purples I had envisioned and tried out in Sacramento a few months before. I was visiting in town and instagram was using a blue /purple filter and I stopped by a cemetery to try it out. Something about those two colors works perfect for the emotion I wanted to capture. I will be adding a new England blog and I have a whole portfolio of images in my travel section if your interested on checking that out! Below are some images from Charter St, check the store for images and if you'd like a print below thats not there just ask! take care
