Halloween and dark themes are my favorite to shoot! Thru a photography facebook group post, I collaborated with a great team on this project. The idea was a siren on the beach, longing to go back to sea. The makeup artist @sarahnunez_makeup did a phenomenal job with the ideas I had sent. Also on the team was @amberramirezhair and @splashmermaidco modeling her own outfit with handmade top created by her. The prep took a little while but anything great takes a while. We first shot on the beach a little farther away and then made our way under the pier.
Modeling is not easy and I really respected @splashmermaidco for getting in the water and getting great shots! We timed it right to shoot around golden hour and a few shots came out really unique! I shot both film and digital and usually I like the film shots more but this time I preferred the digitals. The pier was pretty packed so having to manuever around people became a challenge that slowly built up more. After a while tourist were crowding us and someguy even tried to take a picture of my camera display, it was really weird. When your shooting outdoors with people around a lot of random stuff can happen and that was a new one. We shot til just after the sunset, after all that time we were all beat with long drives ahead of us.
All in all the day was a complete success, with each of us hopefully with something great to add to our portfolio. I felt lucky to have met such great people to work with cause it was a collaboration. The more I get into photography the more I am grateful for the people who are willing to share their time for art. Hope you like the photos!
